Velvet Cupcakes

Silky smooth red velvet cupcakes with a tangy cream cheese frosting.

Ingredients

  • 150g flour
  • 20g cocoa powder
  • 150g sugar
  • 60g butter
  • 1 egg
  • 120ml buttermilk
  • Red food colouring

Frosting

  • 300g icing sugar
  • 50g butter
  • 125g cream cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 170C.
  2. Mix dry ingredients. Whisk wet ingredients separately.
  3. Combine wet and dry, then spoon into cupcake cases.
  4. Bake for 20 mins.
  5. Beat frosting ingredients together and pipe onto cooled cupcakes.
